Could it be??

Right now, I'm hoping against all hope that the photo behind Leith Clark with all the dark blue hues is, in fact, the cover of the newest issue of Lula. (And, is it just me...or does the girl in the white dress bear a slight resemblance to Ms. Lou Doillon?? Squint harder, dang it!)

The release date for their Fall issue has now been pushed back well over a month, for reasons still unknown. I love Lula, I do, but I have to admit: it really ticks me off that they've not given us hint one as to what the heck is going on. I mean, we care dammit! And we shell out nigh on $20 to buy a copy, so I feel like the least they can do is lend a few words of reassurance in these troubled times. Grrrrr.

Anyways, in the meantime, to wile away the Lula-less hours, check out this interview with Leith on The Style Notebook (also where I found the above photo.) Some of you, like me, may have come across this glorious picture on Erin's tumblr recently. It's by frl.zucker on flickr, and at first glance I didn't think too much past "oooh, pretty colors, pretty bike, pretty bag!" However: upon closer inspection, I realized that, besides being pretty, that bag is both TAPESTRY and CAT PRINT. Stop the presses!!! That's the kind of mind-blowing combination that I never dared hope might exist anywhere outside my wildest, twee-est fever dreams.

Naturally, I assumed anything so amazing could only be vintage. Still, I decided to poke around and see if I could find anything online even remotely similar. And then--a miracle! Un milagro!! A search for "cat tapestry bag" on ebay returned, after some careful sifting, this:



Dost mine eyes deceive me or is this the EXACT SAME BAG??? Waaaaah!!! It also comes in a smaller, dare I say even more adorable size. Long story short: as far as I'm concerned, this kind of success story is why the internet was invented, and why it's actually ok that we'll probably all be cyborgs with Google chips in our brain boxes come the year 2025.

Elisa Nalin

I've been puzzling over the identity of this woman for some time now. That outfit with the pink blazer and camel pants swept me off my feet when I saw it on style.com and then again on Mr. Newton. I had to know who she was, with her impeccable trouser collection and charmingly boyish gamine haircut.

Turns out, her name is Elisa Nalin, and she is a stylist and fashion director at Crash Magazine (where she recently styled this beautiful editorial.) I also realized that she was photographed by The Selby a while ago, and it was her insane shoe collection that I'd been drooling over all this time:





Sportmax also did a little interview with her, and she seems really charming. I wish I could find more photos of her candid style, she just blows me away every time!
