Even though I'm too broke to buy, I'm totally in love with the styling of Tarantula Sisters on Etsy. So simple and cute and a little bit off, just the way I like it...plus, their model is adorable, and reminds me so much of Miss Zippora Seven, always a favorite.

Pheeew. I'm starting to feel like all I do these days is sweat and scoop cat poo (pet sitting is not a particularly glam occupation...) Thankfully, starting the 20th I'll be escaping for four weeks to my island homeland in Washington!! It's high time for a seaside retreat, and these gorgeous photos by Liz Ham for Oyster Magazine have got me dreaming about worn-in denim, stripes, flats, and maybe a bit of red lip (though I'll just end up having to reapply after that ginormous ice cream cone I've got my mind's eye on...) So of course, I made a polyvore set to go with!

Ok, so: all I need to do now is find someone willing to pay me for dicking around on polyvore all day, and I'll be set for life!

One of my favorite features on So Much to Tell You is their constantly evolving Top Ten lists--you can find them in the right sidebar, and they're always replete with wonderful little bits of inspiration. That's how I came across the website for this new magazine called I Love You. It looks really amazing, and I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and order a copy online, though first maybe I'll try and see if they still have some stocked at Opening Ceremony. Here's hoping!

There are always so many pretty things on my wishlist from the Bona Drag website. Nice things to dream about when I really should be reading that last 350 pages, and writing all those essays instead...oooooh brother, these are dark times indeed.

These are photos that I took of my friend Rowan when I was sixteen or seventeen. That was quite a few years ago, but somehow I feel like they sort of fit in with the dark, Gothic overtones that are currently so permeating the fashion world.

But really, they mostly just make me laugh. We were only kids, but we were sooo serious!

(Coincidentally, this is also the dress I wore to senior prom!)

holga time!

Here are a few photos that Alex took on our trip upstate a few weeks ago with his Holga. Sometimes I feel like now that Polaroid seems to be slowly dying and being replaced with stuff like this, maybe it's time to turn to medium format cameras like the Holga and the Diana for photos with that special, imperfect, magical feel. I've been meaning to buy one for years.

Anyways, the lack of updates these days is mostly due to the countless tons of stress being shoveled upon me daily due to being in Production 1 this semester and beginning to actually shoot my first Super8 film (more on that later!) but stick with me kids! I'll be back in a jiffy.

Fake it till you make it...to Spring

Although recently the last vestiges of iced coffee weather have been clinging on for dear life, generally this time of year, it rapidly begins to become more and more of a struggle each day to convince myself that I like the cold and don't miss daylight. Layers smayers. Tights smights. So, while I ponder purchasing a SAD lamp here, as much for my own benefit as yours, are some pictures that make feeling chilly and sad all the time seem sort of ok.

Pictures from Facehunter and Foto Decadent, among many others whom I have, predictably, forgotten. If any of these images belong to you, and you would like me to take them down or credit you, PLEASE do not hesitate to say so! Otherwise I will feel like real asshole.
