SPRING AHEAD

Spring Fabrics

Three pieces I look forward with much anticipation to wearing once the weather is steadily above the 60 degree mark: a worn-in, semi-sheer cotton blouse in the most obnoxiously pastel poppy print, my Leah Goren Kitty Cat Tee, and the American Apparel mid length pocket top I have wanted since I tried it on last August (and now need in every color, I'm afraid.)

Other things I am looking forward to: getting paid tomorrow (fingers crossed) and immediately buying the biggest bunch of tulips I can lay hands on; trying, and perhaps succeeding, to track down a copy of this book; dying pysanky eggs and finding some flowering branches to hang them from; four words: Cadbury Creme Egg Cupcakes.

And you? Tell me something you're excited for.

I love those AA t-shirts too; I have a really similar striped one from Topshop and I want them in soft colours and stripes.

I'm excited by the thought of Creme Egg cupcakes. But before I read that sentence, I was excited about starting my new job, finally saving up for Russell and Bromley loafers, and taking my lunch to the park with a book today.

Ah those tops are so perfect, right?? They're the exact length I'm always looking for, and so nice and wide and slouchy. I love the way they hang and fall. And sooo comfortable! I really wanted a white one but, true to AA standards, it was made of slightly different material and fit completely differently. Sigh.

Russell and Bromley might just make the best loafers in the world, as far as I can tell :n )

This whole post is dreamy, right down to those items in that photo and your description of what you are looking forward too. I'm intrigued to know what Creme Egg cupcakes taste like!

And as for me? I'm excited to try on a pair of Karen Walker sunnies I have been coveting for ages - they are finally stocked in a store here in Perth (Australia) and if they suit me I'll be snapping them up!

This summer I graduate and am moving to London to move in with my long distance boyfriend! I don't think anything can excite me more than the prospect of us doing some gardening together in our new West London home and then drinking gin and tonics and enjoying the english sunshine :) xx

Ooh, so nice! I love that cat tee, and I've been wanting some of those AA tees myself.

I'm really looking forward to getting a cup of coffee later, and getting the flat tire on my bike fixed.

I love Leah Goren's work! Such an inspiration for me.
I'm excited to spend loads of time with my friends in the summer and go to festivals!

Velvet Bow: Oooh Karen Walker sunnies! I am still really annoyed that I didn't get to go to Perth last year when I was in Australia. I was supposed to go along with the band to a festival they were playing, but tickets got screwed up and I ended up staying in Melbourne an extra day instead (which was kinda cool in it's own right, but still!)

Emily: I'm sad you can't make it! It's been too long since we bumped into each other on 6th Ave haha. Where are you going on your getaway?

Dulcie: I am green (no but really) with envy that you get to garden with your boy! That's my dream...but not very likely living on the third floor up here...

Samantha: I'm actually tooootally cheating for the cupcakes haha, because I am lazy and have still yet to master the perfect moist chocolate cake. I'm using a box mix, but I'm going to chop up a bunch of the eggs and throw them into the batter, filling and all. I'm also going to scoop out the filling from some of the eggs and add it to the buttercream frosting (which I will be making by hand) as well as a few swirls of yellow food coloring to make it look like the insides of the eggs. And I'll top with a couple chunks of chocolate shell.

Here's a great recipe if you feel like going the homemade route:

That cat top is so fantastic! I'm looking forward to be done with school for the semester, stocking up on little boys' short-sleeved shirts at Gap (my poor girl's option to AA's seersucker and gingham ones!), being able to read for fun, and hopefully finding a better summer job than last year's(but not looking for it, that's not really fun haha). Happy Spring :)

BARE LEGS, blossoming trees, farmers markets and warm weather smells! I am so sick of the PNW gray.

There you go, there's your book and cheap too :)

Camille: little boys GAP, thank you for reminding me!! I bought one of my absolute favorite striped tees there last year for a fraction of the adult price. Gotta check out what they've got in stock!

lily k.: yes, yes and yes. Baaarreee leeegggssss!!!

Flirting: Ah, sadly still too rich for my blood. I'm trying to find it through the library, but it doesn't even seem to be available through inter-library loan which is crazy for a book that just came out last year! Maybe I can ask for it for my birthday :n )

I found the most amazing silk midi-skirt at the thrift store the other day, I'm really looking forward to wearing it with some sandals and a bra top come the warm weather (can you tell I already have the whole outfit planned?).

Thank you for turning me on to both the Leah Goren tee (WANT), and the book. As natives of Maine, my fiancee and I dream of moving back, especially to one of the islands, that book seems like a wonderful substitute for the time being.

Oooh, dreamy spring fashions! Sigh. How I wish it would stay above the 60 degree mark for more than a day....That's what I'm excited for. Sandal weather. And hearing more about these Cadburry Creme Egg Cupcakes- I might lose sleep over the very idea!

Oh neat! I'd never heard of Leah Goren, but her stuff is totally magnetic. I love that tote with the girls' faces.
