MEET KIRSTEN

elle
clergerie

I have to admit that, after seeing Somewhere right before leaving town, I'm officially jumping on the Elle Fanning bandwagon. Besides being a very talented young actress, it doesn't hurt that she:
a) bears eerie resemblance to my second favorite American Girl, and
b) has awesome hair, which in the above photo reminds me of these soon-to-be-reissued Robert Clergerie shoes.

Plus she wears age appropriate make up, at least in this picture she does! :) Which is something a lot of young(er) actresses could learn.. :P

How did you feel about Somewhere? I loved it, but a lot of people I know hated it.

Elle fanning is gorgeous! Did you see her in the new Lula? So pretty!

Oh man you KNOW Samantha was my fave! Although honestly I can't remember why now...I actually think it was mostly because I wanted dark hair for the longest time as a kid (grass/greener!) I had the doll, and my aunt, who is an amazing seamstress, would always sew her incredibly intricate little dresses. I think she ended up a bit abused and filthy. I lead way too much of a rough-and-tumble lifestyle for ridiculously expensive dolls!

bigfea: I had really mixed feelings about "Somewhere". It had some truly beautiful moments, and some truly sweet moments, but overall I was left feeling a bit disappointed...or maybe disappointed isn't really the right word, since after the wreck that was "Marie Antoinette" my expectations weren't all that high to be honest. I very much admire Sophia as a person and as a woman, but the only film of hers that I've really responded to is "Lost in Translation". Granted, I LOVE "Lost in Translation", but emotionally speaking, all her other work has felt very flat. And don't even get me STARTED on the ending of "Somewhere", oh dear god, I seriously want to punch that ending in the face. Give me a freakin' break!!

haha Kirsten! As a kid, my family didn't have a lot of money, but I have always been in love with American history, so American Girls were my childhood obsession. First I received Felicity for Christmas. Then I saved up and worked super hard to buy Addy. The next year for Christmas I got Kirsten. The three were very happy sisters, and now they live together in my cedar chest waiting for my future daughters (fingers crossed!).

She's so beautiful, and extremely talented. Her hair looks amazing, and those shoes are great.

I have yet to see the film, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. And Elle Fanning is so adorable, pretty, and squeaky clean! Alas, those Fanning girls have great genes, don't they.
