take me away...

aussie set

With the wind whistling frightfully outside my window, I spent tonight playing dress-up in my southern hemisphere wardrobe. Don't get me wrong--I'm crazy excited for Japan! But I'm absolutely aching for bare legs and a Bondi Summer, in February at that. Wish I could show you photos, but this is a pretty good approximation of some of the stuff I'm looking forward to wearing on the Australia/New Zealand leg of our trip:

My big old cream silk blouse, tucked into anything and everything.
Finally got a pair of Saltwater Sandals (only took me 10 months!)
Rayban (cough...knockoffs...cough...) Clubmasters.
Shooorts! But ok, tonight I discovered that one of the pairs I wanted to take gives me a camel toe, and the other pair a wedgie?! Life is sincerely not fair.
My favorite shade of polish, though maybe I shouldn't take it on the plane since it'll probably explode??
Trusty skinny leopard belt, it's even soft like fuuur.

Also: hooooly crap I am looking forward to stocking up on Aussie/Kiwi mags at normal prices (just don't tell me how much they actually cost once you factor in my airfare hrrrrmmm...)

Wow, you're coming to Australia? Which cities. I wouldn't get too attached to your shorts if you're coming to Melbourne though, the weather here flicks from good to bad in the blink of an eye!

I'll be stopping by Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney. Guess I better be sure and have plenty of layers on hand!

Whoooaaaa, it's 100 degrees Fahrenheit in Perth right now, holy crap, gonna hang onto those shorts!

Oh yes, I will! I'm even going to splurge on the good kind with the zipper top. And thank you so much! I can't wait to share the photos :n )

I'm wearing the AA polish RIGHT NOW (the same shade!) and my bottle survived the plane ride all the way from LA to Singapore so I'm thinking yours prob will make it as well ;)I'm sure somone has told you about Camberwell market in Melbourne but pls DO GO THERE, no matter how far it might be from wherever you are that day. Trust me it will be worth it!

Yep, looks like you are set for an aussie summer. Melbourne can get up to 120 degree fahrenheit (and even higher, if we have a repeat of last year) in February, so the shorts certainly going to go astray.

And yes, do go to Camberwell markets, if you get the chance, it's definitely one of Australia's better flea/ trash and treasure markets.

sarah: I'm taking my Canon, and now I may be taking my Super 8 as well! We'll see! I think my boyfriend will be taking his digital cam, but I'm going all analog for this one.

I love that leopard belt, it's so cute! And I've got a pair of Rayban knockoffs too. You can hardly tell the difference! :)
