For me, autumn has always felt like an especially contemplative season. Something about the combination of spending more time inside staring longingly out windows, the necessity of putting a bit of thought into layering up clothing in the morning for a change, rain storms, endless pots of tea, the kind of things that make you want to just plant yourself in some corner of a warm cafe and doodle away an afternoon.When Melissa from To Boldly Fold approached me about doing a giveaway, I thought that this would be the perfect time of year for such a prize: a gorgeous, handbound, softcover leather journal, fastened with a button made from a beachstone found on the Cape Cod shore. Like a lot of ladies, I've been a fan of Tabio's Little Heart Tights for some time now. However, as the barometer here in NYC rises, my desire to roll anything clingy onto my legs, even if it is painfully adorable and sheer, drops rapidly. Fortunately, I'm also big fan of the whole socks-with-heels trend, so when I came across their sweet, simple little socks peeping out of Shalom Harlow's pumps in June's British Vogue, I was delighted. Kelly choose the Vintage Raffia Woven Tote, and then wrote:"Peppermint colours! It fits the weather as it's getting hotter. I'd wear it with khaki linen shorts, a crisp white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a pair of Hasbeens, turquoise bangles, and red lipstick!" Above is my (slightly embellished) version.
