Man, when I first heard that Barbara Hulanicki was going to be doing a collaboration with TopShop, I was pretty stoked. I mean, Biba? Good god, that place was amazing! The clothes, the black lacquered everything, the Art Deco labels...oh what a dreeeaaammm. I mean, the New York Dolls played in the Rainbow Room, for chrissake!
Then, I saw the preview.
I mean it's...fine? And the video Lookbook certainly makes it all seem at little more exciting...
But overall I'm pretty disappointed...though maybe disappointed is too strong a word? I'm just sort of...meh. There's no other way to put it, really.
And, closeted Olsen fan that I may be, seeing MK wearing the last top (as a dress no less):
...still does not make me want to own it. Any of if. Alack, alas. I'll just have to keep on holding out for the Biba Book that's been on my wishlist for a million years!

I guess the worst is.. all of it.
I can't see the video as I'm on my mom's lazy hp, but would you even give this stuff a second look if it lacked Ms Hulanicki's good name? I. Would. Not.
And, hey, what happened to the 'new layout' post? I didn't get a good looksie yet! :(
haha, so MK lives on canal?
aahaha oh boyyy
i agree, i was so uninterested.
i definitely felt twangs of disappointment when i saw the lookbook. none of the prints appeal to me...though, isn't it awful to admit that seeing mary-kate wearing that made me like it more...i feel guilty, wah.
LOVE HER OUTFITTTT
and love ur blog too
I do love MK's outfit...ok, I just love MK! I'll say it. She seems absolutely nuts, and I really appreciate that.
And Suzy, I decided that the whole layout situation needed some more rethinking...I'm just crazy-frustrated, trying to crack the code of my blog's html...I'm so close, but I'm missing an important step...but I'm working on it!
You know SO MUCH MORE about computers than I do. You're like Hackers, with that code-crackin' lingo. Touche. (minus an accent, because I would not know how to do that anyway..)
mk came into my store the other day and was... kind of nuts? I wanted REALLY crazy. But she looked more like a very nervous tiny animal. She was also about 4.5 feet tall. SO I guess if I were that small, I'd be worried about being crushed all the time too.
I'm just jealous that she can wear so many shirts as dresses...but the downsides definitely outweigh the benefits on that front...
oh i think mk's is wearing it well, not too special, but fine i guess
