Glow

Today was a bit melancholy. "The Darjeelng Limited" is like a magical, muddled up song stuck in my head, the kind that drives you crazy till you're all shook up, and the only cure is to listen to it over and over again until your brain can let it go. Sometimes, when I see a beautiful movie, while it fills me up and makes me glow it also makes me sad, because all I want is to live inside it, forever. But there are trains to run for and groceries to be bought and noise and traffic and lines and and jabbing elbows and angry stares and headaches and homework and real, ugly life getting in the way of everything. I just want things to be simple and soft and beautiful, always. If only, if only.

The Darjeeling (Un)Limited

I urge you to see this film, post-haste! I know, it's not really fair my saying this, since it doesn't go into wide release until October 5th. Apparently though, if you live in New York City, there is one theatre (Regal Union Square Stadium 14) playing it today. I, however, had the great, great fortune of seeing it at the New York Film Festival's opening night last night.

Here I am, red eyes a blazin'-all posy-posing by some big fountain. Sigh. Last night was some night, I was in extremey close proximity (we're talkin' two feet, tops) to some of my biggest heroes, chiefly Bill Murray, Wes Anderson, Anjelica Houston, and Jason Schwatzman (whose hand I shook! I shook the hand of the dear little man who played Max Fischer and forever changed my life! Swoooon!)

The movie was everything I had hoped: funny, moving, strange, magical, colorful, and wonderous. And yes, there's a great Kinks song and a great Rolling Stones song and slow motion action scenes that will melt your skin off. But it wasn't just your typical Wes Anderson film. It was so much more. I really felt that this was a film that could appeal to a much broader audience, not just die-hard Wes fans like myself.

"Hotel Chevalier" is a short film, starring Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman, that is meant to be viewed right before "The Darjeeling Limited". Aparently however, it will not be included witht the film in wide release, only at film festivals, which I think is really unfortunate because it adds an important layer to the film, and helps you get a lot more out of it. The film would make perfect sends without it, but it's so much better with! If you have iTunes you can watch it free from here, and if you don't I'm told you can also find it here.

Watch "Hotel Chevalier". Get pumped. See "The Darjeeling Limited" as soon as is humanly possible. I really don't think you'll be disappointed. It is, truly, a thing of beauty.

OMFG

Coming soon: American Apparel Two Tone Opaque Pantyhose.

I am unreasonably excited about these. I can't wait to look like this joker (ha!):

You think I'm kidding. Alas, I kid not.

Dear friends:

That is all.

Hot damn.

Meet the next Pete Doherty. He hangs out in Shoreditch and could probably kick your ass, but he wont, cuz he's a lover not a fighter. Just stay off the crack, kid!

(the Facehunter, who else?)

Mystery solved?

As to the identity of one mysterious redhead/the spaceman waiting in the sky in the flesh, etc...

Apparently she's quite the girl about town on that sweet ass bicycle of hers, and has been snapped by both the Sartorialist and the Facehunter atop its ferocious wheels. And according to some dude's comment, she is, in fact, model Judith Bedard, although I'm finding it hard to completely confirm this, since all the pictures I can find of miss Bedard show her in full make up and with varying hair colors.

Whoever you may be, whatever your name, ride on pale rider, RIDE ON I SAY!

Busted Up

My favorite page from September's Bust magazine. I am in love with the cream/black/army green combination, somehow it reminds me of home. It's already inspired me twice.

I so look forward to Bust's spreads each month. I think they're far lovlier and yet more real than anything else I see in American fashion magazines these days.

Speaking of which...

Would you believe this started out as Charlotte Gainsbourg? It ended up more like some sort of quasi-nurave lovechild between Charlotte and Yoko Ono. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The Color...

I need more purple in my life. And it looks so damn good with red.

Rewind

Long overdue photos from an afternoon spent stalking the tents at Bryant Park.

I wish I had a better photo of the woman in black and white, she was mind boggling, really.

Hot shoes.

I don't know who this was, but people seemed very interested in photographing her, she seemed very interested in posing for them, and she had the most ragingly gorgeous dress on.

I think this redheaded lass in the middle may have been the spaceman waiting in the sky, in the towering, tawny flesh. She certainly blew my mind.

Who What Wear Why When

A few outfits, the ones I remembered to photograph. Being in school puts me in a constant rush, and also turns me into a slob. But I'll try and keep up, now that the cord connects to the camera connects to the computer connects all o' yous!

P.S.

Oh shit, Luella.

Sorry guys!

Things have been a bit nuts with school and boyfriends and LIFE, but I'll be back on track in no time, and I have a new camera cord so WOOT!
