BLUE AND GOLD

(Which, unsurprisingly, were my school colors while at UCSC. Could any combination be more Californian, I ask you??)

With a singular exception, posted above are the last of my photos from Washington in January. 'Bout damn time, right?? Also in the mix: some bits of the amazing façade at BAM, my friend Julia's beautiful bathroom (subway tile in the actual subway = pretty jank; subway tile in the kitchen/bathroom?
Swoon.), and a Nolita skyline on the waning edge of Valentine's Day.

Tonight I'm listening to Die Zauberflöte, eating Chestnut chocolate and green tea mochi from the Japanese convenience store I just discovered exists in Williamsburg (!!!), trying fruitlessly to pretend that I don't have a cold, and wishing that my pet-sit this weekend didn't end Sunday morning so I could watch Mildred Pierce on some sweet, free HBO turns out I'm staying til Monday, but no HBO wah waaah.

Oh, beatiful shot.s And I know exactly what you mean, subway tiles look gorgeou in the bathroom and kitchen.
I think the owl in the second photo is pretty great too!

Your night sounds amazing. It's such a shame... I only just found out about your blog. It's bloody amazing!!

I don't know why I am so strangely drawn to your first photo. It's mesmerizing!

For some reason so many of the people we couchsurfed with across America had bathrooms just like your friends. All sweet little medicine cabinets and clean but slanted tiles lining the walls. And usually a bottle of peppermint dr bronner's magic liquid soap just on the side of the bathroom. After a while I wondered if it was just some stateside tradition/ bathroom trend because it was what greeted us in Philly, Austin, Venice Beach and San Fransisco! xx

Haha, well I'll tell you one thing: my bathroom looks nothing like this! All tacky linoleum and vinyl decals...I do have a pretty sweet little medicine cabinet though ;n )
