I wish upon wish that these wonderfully simple Marais USA sandals came in pink suede instead of pink patent (like their kitten heeled counterparts...only sans kitten heel. Cannot, will not get down with that.) I love the style and the crazy-bright color, but I think patent may be my least favorite shoe material. Suede on the other hand, oooooh suede. Anyways, I guess there's nothing left to do but say le sigh.

Anytime I see a shoe that is made of patent that I love, I always think that too. WHY MUST YOU BE PATENT?! because...I yell at inanimate objects.
Yeah, I'm afraid patent will never look anything but cheap to me. Suede, on the other hand, is the exact opposite! I'd even take fake suede over genuine patent any day.
Every time I see a reference to kitten heels, I think "They still do that?" I ground a pair of kitten heels down to the sole back in 2002. I have never wanted to go back.
I've never been really into patent shoes either. Suede is so much prettier, and it doesn't look cheap the way patent sometimes can!

I agree with you all wholeheartedly on both the patent and the kitten heel issue! I am glad I'm not the only crotchety shoe-material hater out there!
I agree, suede is so beautiful but keeping it clean is so difficult! As for patent, I have a pair of awesome Mayle clogs from a few years ago and a pair of Dieppa Restrepo oxfords I bought from domahoka.com that changed my mind about my patent leather ban forever.
I had a pair of vintage patent italian leather loafers awhile back and they always looked so cheap(almost like they came from wally world...eek). I too love suede but like anonymous said it is so darn hard to keep clean(and I always manage to get them dirty somehow)...For now I'll stick with napa.
Although im not a fan of pink..I love how it stands out..and I love love love the sandals. Nice to meet you by the way!
Yes, patent leather is my least favorite type of material
and kitten heel my least favorite kind of heels.
Patent leather looks so plastic, cheap, and manufactured,
and kitten heels are like...almost heels but not quite.
But I guess some people like that.
