I really love stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington, probably because she tends to dress her models the same way she dresses herself. She has such a wonderful appreciation for color, and she always manages to be playful and girlish without being cloying. Looking through the newest issue of Lula reminds me just how difficult a line that can be to tread.

{i really need to start reading these entries in further detail and give a moment's reflection prior to clicking the comment button, eh?}

oh, but the verification word is 'pringo' so i think that nearly makes up for commenting twice in a row.

Camille is my most fave girl name ever. Perfect girl for a perfect name.

Ever since I saw that picture with the awesome pink pants (if I were to wear pants, those would be one of my top choices!), I've been curious for more information on her. Thanks for all these photos, more proof that she's a genius!

thanks so much for posting this! you're right, it's so hard to be girly and girlish without being overly saccharine and twee. that's why i'm always slightly wary of self-proclaimed "girlish" ladies, and why i try to look young but not child-like. a difficult line indeed.

I got a little sad when I heard she and Jarvis were getting divorced :(

Faux Naif--I completely and totally agree. I find the whole über-girlish grown woman fad a bit unsettling. Of course there's nothing wrong with being youthful and fun and exuberant, but it kind of grosses me out when things get out of hand. I do love Lula and all those Lula ladies, but sometimes it's just too much.

pink horrorshow--Ah I know, and it really puts me off a bit to see how much she seems to enjoy the company of Olivier Zahm. Too skeevy for me...
