A few of the last photos from my trip home, and it sure feels like fall today (actually, it feels a lot like we're back at the beginning of our rotten rainy summer...only this time the clouds don't feel quite so unwelcome.)

oh my, that third to last photo of the soup and hummus! so perfect.
sigh, I know it's a cliche, because it's the same every year, but where did the summer go?
still, I think I'm coming to terms with it. and most excited about wrapping up in cosy winter coats and tartan scarves!

Oh man, yes it is! It's actually a sign on the tiny shack that serves as a waiting room for the Waldron Island Airstrip. It doesn't get as much use these days as it used to, since the cost of flying has gone up tremendously, but when I was a kid I went up in little four seaters on more than one occasion, usually en route to Bellingham.
