It is a balmy 52.6 degrees, and I am in the process of mentally preparing myself for the gross old man whistles that this outfit will no doubt fetch on my merry way to the Saddest Place on Earth (aka the Post Office.) Actually it's not the whistles I mind so much, it's the purv-y under the breath mumbles. Agggh, I mean honestly, do you think that has ever worked on anyone, ever? Like, oh yeah baby, take me back to your crack den and let's make some sweet sweet love. Beavis Fucking Christ.
In lighter news, these are my new babies:
The most perfect pair of VINTAGE oxford heels I have ever laid eyes on, from Die Goldene Gans Vintage on Etsy. They even have a little two inch heel, ideal for wimps like me who still want to feel fancy but also want to be able to run away from strangers and street canvassers with relative ease. I can tell they are very old and delicate, so I am not even going to think about wearing them out until every drop of moisture has evaporated from the streets (according to the weather report, approx. 1.5 billion years from now.)
I am most excited for this, however:
I'm planning a rooftop Eden! So far I have settled on two varieties of tomatoes, as well as basil, arugula, radishes, mint and wildflowers. For any of you city dwellers, or anyone without a proper backyard, so far I'm finding this a great resource for advice on what to plant and how not to kill things. And you can get it from amazon for cheap! And there's recipes too!
Cuz every farmer knows, one of the best things about growing stuff, is eating it.

you look adorable!!!
hahaha you have no idea how many times my friends and I have that same conversation! What is the point of randomly asking girls on the street to be your shorty? I mean, I've never taken anyone up on the offer, and I'm pretty sure nobody ever will.
Your outfit is fantastic. Hooray for Spring!
Lovely new shoes...I really, really, really like them! Your outfit is great! I really like the each peice as a separate and as an ensemble as a whole! And yay to no tights :)

that is one of my favorite gardening books! it was basically my bible a few years back when container growing en masse for the first time. good luck!!
Yes! I'm finally thinking it's time to go without tights (it's nearly 70 in Nashville today)! And those shoes... are so amazing.
The colors on that skirt are so wonderful! I love it. I'm envious of your no-tights weather!
And I totally get what you mean about the perverts on the streets. Have you ever had one actually stop and walk with you?? Believe me, IT IS THE WORST. Good thing I was getting on a train and said perv decided I wasn't worth following onto a train.
My favorite reply (at least for South Williamsburg) is a monotone "Oh yes, I'll just come into your van right now and fuck you. I'm totally turned on."
They never have a response.
SHOES. Omg they are awesome. Plus by the looks of the rest of the store, you got them at a reasonable price. What you don't have, however, is the frosting I made today with melted bananas. You can't have both, Siri! You can't!!
Whuuuuut? Oh man, my housemate would DIE if she heard you made that and ate it without her. How, pray tell, do you melt a banana???
darling outfit, your hair is all tousled and bedroomy! so pretty!
i used to flip off the creepy pervy old men but i think they get off on it...
Oh my gosh, ME TOO (about the container garden)! Yesterday we bought a few flowers for the back porch and picked up a bunch of seeds too.. after the last frost I am so going to attempt a little vegetable garden. I am ridiculously excited about it and I think I might need to pick up that book!
just as i rejoice in being able to wear tights finally. you celebrate taking them off! the outfit is so cute, i hope no one was too revolting. those shoes are so pretty! i'm on the (unsuccessful) hunt for a pair like these in brown, but melbourne seems to be fresh out :(
Well the recipe called for nearly three sticks of butter and I was like 'now this is no way to shed my winter weight,' so i began eyeing the super ripe bananas i'd stashed in the freezer to make bread with, let them thaw and before I knew it I had a supremely gooey banana substance to work with.
I may have eaten nine of the twenty chocolate banana cupcakes I made today. No bikinis this year I guess.
I feel your pain, at the first sense of warmth (or non freezing better) I try to put on a skirt or dress. Much to the pain of my legs
yay for warmth and cute shoes
YES.
Perhaps spring will come one day?!?
Those shoes are absolutely stunning and the book sounds fun! I like the idea of having a rooftop garden!
I don't know how you does it Siri, but bare legs are a sure sign of approaching spring and summer.
Also: container garden, wicked!
I love the outfit, the skirt and boots are supreme. xx
love the shoes you are wearing and the new ones, would not hesitate to snap those up.
This is why you wear pointy shoes; so when creepy guys whistle at you you kick them in the nutsack [hard]
Hey, kid, would you like some seeds.
i love your outfit, and your shoes :)
is that bob dylan behind?
:D
