Ah, I feel so bad! Not too long ago, someone contacted me (on here? On email? On flickr? On livejournal???) asking about some scans I posted somewhere from an ancient issue of JANE magazine (RIP). Predictably, I forgot all about it, and now for the life of me I can't figure out who it was that asked and where and I feel like a royal douche about it.
So, just in case the curious party is a reader of this blog, here are said scans. They are from an editorial in the February 2002 issue, which I still own and, in the event of an untimely death, would like to be buried with (loved ones please take note.)
The best part is that the whole thing is narrated by Jane Pratt herself, talking about her crazy hippie upbringing, which I find both hilarious and relatable.
For the full spread (oh yes, there's more!) and images big enough to properly read the text, check out my flickr set (Lauren, this one's for you!)

:*( I miss Jane. My dream job was to work for that magazine. Oh it's so sad!
oh sarah, me too :n ( I was OBSESSED with JANE. I remember when they had their big "makeover" and changed to try and look like Nylon or something (the beginning of the end!) my friends and I were so upset that we planned on picketting their offices. It never happened, and now it's gone. I still haven't found something that really fills the void, but RUSSH comes close.
I love that! That era is one of my favorites for fashion, It makes me want to wear my self make multicolored patched up jeans, a gorgeous embroidered jean shirt I own and Put a big ribbon through my wide brim hat. Wow, I think I need to take some photos.
I also loved jane too! I hadn't even realized they were done. Sad, so many publications are going under with the internet taking over. In some ways it is good to save the resources but it is also a end of a long era of beautiful art.

To the third picture down - I know you're not alive, but if you were, I'd love you with every single cliched fibre of my being.
Love the new header
Wow! That spread is so great. I absolutely love imagining what life looked like when everyone dressed that way.
