holga time!

Here are a few photos that Alex took on our trip upstate a few weeks ago with his Holga. Sometimes I feel like now that Polaroid seems to be slowly dying and being replaced with stuff like this, maybe it's time to turn to medium format cameras like the Holga and the Diana for photos with that special, imperfect, magical feel. I've been meaning to buy one for years.

Anyways, the lack of updates these days is mostly due to the countless tons of stress being shoveled upon me daily due to being in Production 1 this semester and beginning to actually shoot my first Super8 film (more on that later!) but stick with me kids! I'll be back in a jiffy.

Wow, those photos look totally sweet and romantic :D I love the feeling that you get from the imperfection of a polaroid - still haven't got round to downloading the Poladroid programme that everyone is talking about but looking at doing that in order to construct my parents' 25th anniversary project :D

That last photo is ethereal and amazing.

In the past, you've said that you're open to adding other fashion bloggers to your blog roll. My friend and I just started one. Would you consider adding it?

P.S. Your blog is great as always.

Such beautiful photographs! I think it's hilarious that there's a "make your photos look like Polaroids" site.

i love holga-diana pictures... i've been meaning to get one for ages. the only problem is i would have to order them online as they are nowhere to be found in peru...!
photos like these convince me that its worthwhile going through all that trouble!

Holgas are wonderful to play with. Mine has so many little light leaks that I can't seem to get rid of, but that's really half the charm. These photos do have such a magical feel to them. Lovely.

maddie--you and rachel are too cute! Of course I'll add you :n )

so yun um--I go to Brooklyn College. I think it is really super cool that they still teach on Super8 for production 1, then move up to 16mm for other production classes, but there's a lot of rumblings about cutting out the Super8 portion. Ah well. And I will absolutely show all of you my stuff when it's done, right now it's still on film reels and I need to get it digitized so I can start to edit (they don't actually make us splice it all, though we did practice that a bit yesterday!)

And thanks everyone!

NO SPLICING??????? What is there to learn without the suffering??????

I stumbled across your blog accidentally and really love it. I do like nice cyber accidents. You have wonderful style and I really do love these photos. Lomo cameras really are becoming the new poleroid, maybe, hopefully if more people use them film processing won't be so expensive for us who cannot develop our own films.
PS: The first photo reminds me of The Secret Garden.

Nice shots, really like the second one :)

Holga rules!!!!

I love Lomography too...it always happens that the pics turn out to be something quite different from what you imagined, and also have and old style look that I like so much.

Cheers
