My eeeeyes!
I have been putting off getting glasses for years. My eyes aren't that bad, or at least they didn't used to be, and over time I've gotten used to sitting in the front of classrooms and squinting a lot and even recognizing different people from afar by how they walk (yes, I am ridiculous). I've never been too pleased with the idea of having to wear something on my face in order to see, and I've never found frames that looked good on me. All the cool, kooky vintage ones I'm attracted too make me look like a buffoon. I tried contacts a while back, but they hurt so much that I just couldn't take it.
Point is: I finally found some frames I can stand! I got them at Fabulous Fanny's in the East Village (I spent more than an hour trying on just about every frame in the damn place. It was the third time in as many weeks I'd been there). Step two: get some lenses in 'em. Step three: learn to appreciate the world once more in all its piercing glory.

Very nice! I think you'll like the clear world.
Fashions too fast my frames are already out of style but yours are très cool
Really dig that poster in the background
Now you can clearly see that you look great with those frames
:-)
they are lovely! and so is that picture. :)
Amy May x
you look gorgeous with those glasses.
oh! what a great picture! I understand you, 'cos I should wear glasses but I can't find frames wchih I really like. anyway, I like your look with glasses and one more time - these picture is amazing! lotta love, sonia.
Great specs!
Tey look so good an you! Luv them
It might sound weird but I have always wished to wear glasses! Unfortunately, I don't need them...
you look great in glasses! mine are perpetually crooked and fall apart easily....ah, whatever. i think being blind gives me an excuse to bump into things when i'm bored.
cute
lovely! glad you found some you love. i'm always hoping i'll go blind so i can get some cute and free glasses (my uncle's an optometrist) but alas, my genes have given me 20/20 vision.
Thanks, all, for the lovely comments!
I have to admit, it kind of irks me when people with excellent vision tell me they wish they needed glasses. NO, trust me, you don't. It's a handicap (albeit a minor one on the grand scale of things), and while there are certainly a bevy of modern ways of dealing with it, bottom line is that it's really rather scary to think that you can't see properly without external aid. I mean, I'm basically going blind here at a snail's pace. Is that really what you want? If it is, I think maybe you've got some screws loose.
THAT being said, I COMPLETELY understand the aesthetic motivation behind that desire. The more I try and force myself to wear my glasses, the more I feel like they can be a really a great accessory. Its almost like putting on a necklace or tying a scarf around your neck or what have you--it can take an ordinary outfit to another level, and it can create some very interesting juxtapositions. And of course, there's the whole "the grass is always greener" element to all of this...
Anyways, sorry for the rant. I'm certainly not trying to be accusatory, I just had to get all that off my chest :n )
Glasses are cool, but they're less of a novelty to me because i've had to wear them since i was a tot.
I totally know what you mean.
I hated glasses, whean I got my first one. & I still do. You must be thinking wearing glasses makes you look kind of intelligent - No: when I put my glasses on I look like an indiot! - Really!
I also used to sit in the front and squinting a lot & i recognized people by colours :D (Oh, my best friend is wearing a pink jackettoday - there she is).
I banned my glasses since the day I got my contacts & I cannot find them anymore. & on Saturday (night) one of my contacts was broken. And I was absofuckinglutely blind for the whole weekend. So I wore my mothers ones - but they were too weak for me so I was just blind.
I would love to have the glasses you are wearing. But my mother isn't that pleased with my idea to buy me a new pair. Of course they are expesive & I will wear them maybe just on lazy sundays but I just NEED nice looking ones.
Sorry, indiot happens everytime to me when I try to write IDIOT
