FLORA

Tropical Room

Hanami

I've been lucky enough to visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden three times in the last month and a half, and each time I've found something new to fill me with awe. In the photos above, it was cherry blossoms and magnolias, gardenias in the Tropical Room, and an enormous patch of vibrant blue grape hyacinths. Last week, it was a swath of bluebells under a cool canopy of trees, the most bluebells I have ever seen in my life. It was incredible, like something out of my pastoral British countryside dreams! I forgot my camera like a fool, but fortunately I was there with Eva from Bows & Bandits for another little project that I'm excited to share with you soon :n )

I haven't been to your blog in a while, but I picked up the latest issue of Bust to get shipped to Australia, and saw you in the Contributers page! So very exciting to see an old favourite in a new favourite (just discovered the magazine issue before last).
Nice work, and I'm glad I stopped by for the jealousy-inducing pictures of blossoms.

Oh, I'd love to see the blossoms in the brooklyn botanic garden, when I went last year I was a month or so too early and there was nada.

So thank you for posting these, not quite the real deal but as close as I'll get for now!

I love botanical gardens--they are a better pick-me-up than almost anything I can think of. And botanical gardens + koi = even better. Beautiful photos.
