I'm super duper excited to share a really fun project I had the good fortune to take part in recently. I've been a fan of Bows & Bandits Vintage for a good while now, so when Eva (one half of the B&B team) asked me to model for their Spring/Summer lookbook, I didn't even have to think twice. I'm definitely more comfortable behind the camera than in front, especially when someone else is in charge of snapping the shutter, but I knew as soon as I stepped in the door of Eva's beautiful apartment and was immediately plied with delicious pastries and a heap of the prettiest vintage dresses and skirts that I was in good hands.

Turns out my faith was rewarded many times over. Eva's friend Kathi Reckendorfer took all the photos using not one, not two, but three different film cameras (a girl after my own heart if ever there was one!) I'll be the first to admit that I'm my own harshest critic, but Kathi has such an amazing eye and the girls made me feel so comfortable that the results, more of which you can see on Kathi's website, made me feel really, unabashedly great. Kathi, if you're ever looking for work as a personal photographer, you've got my email ;n )

Visit Bows & Bandits to see the full lookbook, as well as they're brilliantly curated selection of vintage clothes, accessories and now home items as well. Thanks again Eva and Kathi (and Sophie too!), I had so much fun and I hope we can do it all again sooner than later.

All photos by Katharina Reckendorfer, please provide full credit if you repost.

I can imagine modeling must be quite unnerving if you are not used to being in front of the camera... but these photos are so tasteful and you look so relaxed {and beautiful}... all the signs of a good team. Photos are amazing.

Before I read the text I was quite convinced you had a talented stalker following you and taking lovely pictures! I take this to mean you look very natural and pretty, which is always good.

Love them! I think I've been to a few apartments in that building in South Williamsburg, I recognize the big old staircase. Somehow these photos make me view Brooklyn through new eyes.

Oh and ahem, majorly jealous of those No.6 sandals. Are they comfy?

Thank you everyone!! The credit really goes to Kathi here, I don't know what kind of voodoo magic she employed but it's honestly been years since I liked photos of myself this much.

corrie: Oh man those are my babies!! They are really quite comfortable, the sole in nicely coated in rubber that totally absorbs any shock so the clip-clop factor is actually quite low. The only problem I have is that every once in a while I'll sort of knock one of the soles into the side of my other foot, but that is mostly because I am dumb and don't even know how to walk right in flats ahaha.

One thing I am worried about with this particular style is the straps stretching out and getting too loose, since I already have them on the smallest holes in the buckles to make them fit right...but I figure I can always poke new ones if need be. Overall, I pretty much want a pair in every single style, as I feared!

Good to know! I had the stretching problems with last summer's Hasbeens. By August they were toast because I wore them in a few summer storms. Keep them out of the rain if at all possible! But ooooh do I want them, and the t-straps too.

I'm sorry if this is a creepy question, but can I ask where these photos were taken, roughly? That staircase looks REAL familiar, as do the window views! I think I've been in that building!

These make me wish you took more outfit photos! You make all these dresses look so modern.

Anon: the building is in South Williamsburg, one of those that just kinda look like a big looming box on the outside but are really quite old and beautiful inside.

Rhiannon: I totally would, if I had someone to take all my outfit photos on film ;n )

I'm not a real fan of having my picture taken either, but you know you're going to love these when you're older. Everyone deserves some beautiful film pictures of themselves and these are so soft and cozy feeling. Nice work!
