EASY AS ONE TWO THREE

(click photo for item details)

Today was achingly cold, the kind of day that, when coming in March, tends to quash all hopes of it ever being spring, of the breezes ever being balmy instead of biting, of your bare flesh ever seeing the light of day again. The kind of day that makes it hard to imagine, let alone believe, that some day I might live, day in and day out, in little more than what you see pictured above.

True story: sometimes when it is really frigid out (meaning that our radiators have finally kicked in and are steaming away merrily) I put on my cutoffs and wear them around the house, to do dishes or make dinner or just veg in front of the computer. I also have a painful crush on these sandals, though my Saltwaters will do just as well I suppose. And finally, I already have my sights on some new summer staple t-shirts which aren't so much cropped as just the perfect length on me (black, white, sorbet please.) Maybe if I close my eyes and wish reeeal hard...it'll be June when I wake up in the morning?

This is perfection. We are just coming out of summer now, and while that outfit is completely wearable in this weather, i am kind of aching just a little bit for shirts and high waisted jeans. Oh grass, must you always be greener elswheres?

Haha, see, that is a craving I never really get...I mean, in high summer here I do get awful sick of the humidity, it starts to drive me crazy. But the second I make it to the West Coast, I feel like I could live in summer forever and never look back...

Gah, I want to wear shorts and sandals today, not a scarf and boots! I'm half-desperate for summer and half wanting to delay it further - I can't afford the flats and sandals I need to replace.

i hear you, mademoiselle, i really do! i was aching, just aching for spring and summer yesterday (and wrote a post about it too, actually). i'm just trying to suck it up and deal with it, but it's not always easy... especially when i see perfectly simple summer get-ups like the one you have here. c'est la vie... :)

Do Saltwaters run big/small or true to size? I'm a half size, Arg!

I've already started planning river trips and there is no way I can get in the water. Maybe in a month..

uhh, I know what you mean, but I live in Canada, so it'll be ages before I can feel the warmth of the sun!

hey i was just at h&m today and they have very similar t-shirts, even in that dreamy sorbet. might be worth checking out to save a little scratch, though the quality is always hit or miss.

also noticed that h&m is finally heavy into the slim, pleated slack? after i gave up trying to thrift my own for over a year? i guess at least they picked the ball back up after they dropped it...

summer is over now in australia but it's still hot, and if you substitute the cut offs for a long-ish jersey skirt this is what i'm wearing. i have these strappy leather sandals that i'm obsessed with, and the most perfect white tee shirt. nothing is as easy and simple.. i love it so much!
