We're heading upstate this weekend for some fall-time fun. Of most pressing urgency on the agenda: eating many delicious foods, including (but not limited to) apple cider doughnuts, pumpkin gelato, and doughboys a plenty.

Important question: does anyone know of any primo thrifting (or otherwise generally awesome) spots between NYC and Saratoga Springs, NY? You can always email me if you require confidentiality. Your secret will be safe with me, swear!! Now spill it. :n )

I loooove Saratoga! My boyfriend is from there. There's an awesome used bookstore called Lyrical Ballad that's right in downtown Saratoga, on Phila Street (http://www.discoversaratoga.org/asppages/BusinessDetail.cfm?bid=95). Also, you HAVE to eat at Sushi Thai Garden (http://www.sushithaigarden.com/). Some of the best food I've ever eaten. Also, get gelato at Eugenio's (http://www.eugenioscafegelato.com/), and coffee at either Saratoga Coffee Traders (they have drinks flavored like candy bars!) or Uncommon Grounds. Also, go into Soave Faire, which has art supplies and tons of cool/weird/kitschy toys and ornaments. Plus, all these places are within walking distance of each other because downtown Saratoga is about 4 or 5 blocks long! :) Have a great time, I am insanely jealous you'll be there and I'm stuck in Buffalo!

those pictures just gave me the strongest feelings of nostalgia for back home. there's a silly little town called oak glen where you can go for apple cider and apple cinnamon mini donuts fresh from this giant mini donut-making machine!
