Those Swedes have all the luck...

Aaaagh, seeing this girl on Stockholm Streetstyle has reignited my lust for a pair of those Swedish Hasbeens (though apparently these are actually by a brand called Toffel, which I can't find being sold anywhere with a website in English...) That and the gorgeous girl I spotted in the Walgreens by Union Square this afternoon rocking a pair of these.

I am still 100% baffled by the summer shoe situation. Saltwater sandals are amazing, but too wide. The pair I had my sights set on arrived from etsy the other day, and they were much too long (so now they're here.) My pair of Emma Pink gladiators are on they're last legs, besides being excruciatingly uncomfortable on pavement. So please tell me, what on earth are you guys wearing on your feet right now???

Ah fig, you sneak, those are so great--and in my size too!

Hahaha, and I guess I didn't mean literally RIGHT NOW, it was more of an all inclusive, general right now...though that could be kind of a fun survey...personally, right now I'm wearing nothing on my feet but a nice new crop of blisters from walking around the city all day in improper shoes!

I usually prefer pumps at summer. But on the other hand I cant keep myself away from high heels!

I can share my best choices for summer from my shoe blog:

pumps: http://shukineshu.blogspot.com/2009/05/coraline.html

I totally feel for you. I haven't found a sandal worth buying, so far for the summer. I'm sticking with my pumps and heels but also moccasins and boat shoes/top siders.

These: http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca-eng/sale/women/shoes/flats/72802918-niskanen/29 . They're really cute and comfortable, and SUPER CHEAP.

You should buy these! http://feelslikewhitelightning.com/ I cannot afford them… I would be so jealous.

oh gosh i feel just horrible that the saltwaters didn't work out for you after you were the one who inspired me to get a pair!

that said, i seem to have a rotation of three different shoesies going on at the moment: the brown saltwaters, white huaraches from target (i know, but i'd already bought my leather item for the year..), and these little gray tennis shoes that look like something my sweet-as-pie grandma alice would wear.

i'm still looking around for a nicer pair of sandals, perhaps ones with a little heel, perhaps those damn rachel comey from uo ones. ugggh. and i really wanted boots this spring but that didn't happen so i have all summer to search for the perfect pair to wear with dresses in the fall.

I LOVE Hasbeens... why they gotta be so frickin' expensive though? I personally love Dr. Scholls or jellies... no flipflops though... they always make me feel too hangin' out.

I probably lose a ton of points for this, but I'm wearing Target sandals and I love them. They're WAY comfortable (never a blister), REALLY cheap and not that bad-looking.

Nice outfit! They are actually real Swedish Hasbeens as you can see by the logo on the back. You can buy them om www.swedishhasbeens.com.

Good luck!

If you don't mind not wearing platforms, Rockport Sunlights are nice- I just got a pair in the mail, and they're really comfortable (no pavement woes), plus they go with dresses and pants!

Ok wow, where even to begin--thank you all so much!

Katie: oh those Aldo ones are really good! I wish they came in black though (did I mention that an enormous part of my problem is that I'm incredibly picky??) Still, I'm mighty tempted by the tan...

Anon: oh man, I knoooow! Fortunately those aren't my size, because I can't afford them either! But I want, oh I want!

I definitely agree about no flip flops. They're fine for bumming around home/on the island/in the shower/to walk between your bed and the freezer for popsicles, but not for public times, not for me anyways.

Emily: no points lost in the least! I have seen so many bloggers in ridiculously cute Target sandals lately. I'll have to stop by the huge one across the street from my school--I try not to go in there because I always end up leaving with a bajillion things I don't need (you know how it goes...) but maybe I'll brave it.

Ahnel: Ah yes! I feel like every summer someone reminds me of those, and I keep promising myself that someday I will buy a pair! They seem totally amazing and really good quality, and I love the story behind them as well.

fig: you pretty much hit the nail right on the head! That first pair has been on my favorites list since they first appeared, I LOVE THEM...but they're just a little more than I want to pay. I keep hoping the longer they're up that the price will be reduced a bit, but I'm also getting progressively more desperate...aaaagh I can feel myself starting to cave already!

I ordered these http://www.target.com/dp/B001OO6RJY/184-7060018-1939559

after seeing them on a blog, I'm still waiting for them, but all the reviews seem to be good and they seem very versatile. I only wish they came in brown. If they are as great as I'm hoping, I will get another pair and use that special shoe spray paint. DIY, FUN!

I've been very happy with my recent purchase of Kork Ease Bette sandals:

http://www.korkease.com/index.cfm/a/catalog.catshow/catid/98

I found them at DSW for a significantly reduced price. They also pop up on ebay.

They're very comfortable for walking in the city so far and I am a STICKLER for comfort. They look great with everything: skirts, shorts, jeans.

i am wearing those beautiful babies! The shape is just too cute and the color surprisingly goes well with most of my outfits. I also love that they don't have straps to fuddle around with.

OH DAMN. someone nabbed these beauties already.

Hi!
I am from Sweden and the word Toffel is not the brand. It is the type of shoe, you know like boots e.g. Unfortunately I don't know the brand, but it is not toffel :)
