So here are some little chunks of a few films that mean a lot to me. I'm sure I'm making many vast oversights that I'll remember as I'm trying to fall asleep tonight, so you can definitely look forward to a part two (three? Four?)...
Harold and Maude (Hal Ashby, 1971)
Badlands (Terrence Malick, 1975)
Rushmore (Wes Anderson, 1998)
Black Cat, White Cat (Emir Kusturica, 1998)
The Passenger/Professione: reporter (Michelangelo Antonioni, 1975)
Dead Man (Jim Jarmusch, 1995)
True Stories: Talking Heads (David Byrne, 1996)
Joe Versus the Volcano (John Patrick Shanley, 1990)

Definitely some of my favorites listed here. If I combine your list with Hannah's I might just have all the movies I ever need. Plus maybe Mister Lonely, Wild at Heart, Pump up the Volume (yes,I said it), Secretary, Masclin et Feminine, The Scent of Green Papaya, and well my list just is far too long. Ha. The only one you listed that I haven't seen is Black Cat, White Cat - I am going to add it to my Netflix queue now.
i just watched badlands not too long ago, and was immediately enchanted. i adore sissy and dont normally warm up to martin sheen, but this film is one of my favorites. i'm waiting for enough time to pass so that i may savor it once more...
radical post!
Oh god, how could I forget Wild at Heart?!?
I'm already working on part two...
This is such a fun idea. Labyrinth, Daughters of Darkness and Blue Velvet would be up on my list!
I love Badlands and Days Of Heaven. And also I think that final scene in Dead Man was filmed somewhere up in your neck 'o the woods, in WA that is. Speaking of which, McCabe and Mrs. Miller is also a favorite.
What a neat idea! I absolutely love The Passenger - especially that scene. Isn't it dreamy?
Ooh I hope you don't mind if I blatantly copy this idea for my blog, do you? Rushmore and Harold and Maude are my two favourite movies too (and you showed my favourite parts!) but I think I've said that on here a million times before.
Ooooh Badlands. I met a boy a long time ago with a GIGANTIC Badlands poster, which may be a key reason I dated him for a year.
I've seen a couple of these and I love them, maybe I should watch the others I haven't. :)
p.s. i forgot, the badlands remind of true romance, the champion of my romance favorites...
have you ever seen chungking express or in the mood for love? those two are a couple of my favorites!
AFitz, go for it! I stole the idea from Hannah afterall so I'm no one to judge...
pigeon, no I don't think I have actually seen either of those, though I've heard about them plenty. Into my ginormous netflix cue they go then!
aw true stories. its like i'm 17 again. but where is bottle rocket? should have invited you to the BR loft screening a few weeks ago. swry. weegee ate a lot of chinese food.
You are the only other person i have ever met who likes Joe Vs. The Volcano.
That movie is brilliant.
