Thunder!
Last night I went and saw "Tropic Thunder". See, I have a bad habit of letting the film reviews in New York Magazine sway my opinion (or at least tickle my fancy). In the case of "You Don't Mess with the Zohan", I was...disappointed. In the case of "Thunder" I was slightly less so, if only because ROBERT DOWNEY JR. CAN DO NO WRONG. Anyways, I wore this old dress I found in my closet that I thrifted in Washington this Spring. I think it used to be a beach cover-up, and consequently a 12 inch slit up one seam had to be sewed shut to save the world from my granny panties. Sigh. Maybe one day I will purchase a dress that just FITS, right from the get-go. Maybe. I wont hold my breath.

hahaha its more fun that way when its all torn up and you have to sew it up yourself. it adds a little umpf. haha anyway, i didnt want to watch tropic thunder but now i guess i want to cause its like a satire of what hollywood has become and how ridiculous everything is now...
don't hold your breath! you always find the best stuff, and even if it don't fit it still looks amazing.
ps. Floyd suing Linklater, eep!...I read about it on wikipedia (i am. a geek). oh, and the criterion collection is on my christmas list as well, here's hoping!
Screw clothing that 'fits'. When you can alter, there's so many more options! Sewing skillz fo life, yo.
love the dress! great pattern
How was Tom Cruise in that movie? I hear his character is pretty zany as well.
I love the dress. Your post made me realize how incredibly stupid I am. I have a dress that is slit up so far that I can't really wear it, but never even thought about sewing it. Wowwwww... well thank you for the lightbulb that is now flashing in my head :)
I like your blog. I added you to my list...if you would like please add me :)

Fitting shcmitting! Looks great.
I totally loved tropic thunder... Robert Downey Jr. was so much funnier than I though he'd be.
Sweet dress!
you look so pretty in that dress! i think clothes are a lot more fun when you can alter them :]
love the pop of the red belt
You're lookin' ever so fine. Also, you, me, and Effie. In NY. Soon. I mean it.
this outfit is adorable. I love black and red and white!
Such a comfy-looking, lovely outfit once again. You are one of the very few people who actually make me long for summer clothes!
bahaha granny panties! im so glad you said that. My mom gets most of my underwear from Costco.
I've checked your blog almost everyday since you were featured in BUST. You inspired me to start my own blog. I've just been too shy to comment until now!
