I love absolutely everything about this outfit, but I fell especially hard for the shoes. I've been looking for a little old lady pair of t-strap sandal-y shoes for eons, so it was with a semi-silent whoop! of joy that I grabbed these off the Thrift Store shelf the other day:
Ok, so I'm pretty sure hers are still a tad cooler, but these babies make me feel like I'm walking on air so I'll let it slide. Hello arch support! From the same store, I've also picked up a pair of granny oxfords:
And some intimidating leather boots:
Finally, to round things out, a few pieces of flair that would make any grandmother proud:
The only thing missing from this picture is a tall, cool glass of Metamucil...and my retirement fund.

your finds are adorable! and the first pair of shoes looks liek they came right outta that face hunter picture. thrifting kudos for you ;)
awww, i love everything, especially that first pair of shoes!
What awesome, awesome finds. Thrifted boots, too! I need a nice cup of tea and a sit down, now.
I'm excited as my new oxfords will have arrived in the mail by the time i get home. Also, look forward to a fancy new pin from Chine.
oh my goodness, the glasses brooch is so so good!
The firt pair of shoes is very nice !
I especially like the glasses brooch. Together with the apple they could be a real retiring-teacher-mix.
wow those brooches are lovely! so are the shoes, particularly the first pair.
I love the boots !!
super great finds :} those brown oxfords can go so high in price on ebay, kinda scary!
oooh what finds! i also loved that outfit when i saw it on facehunter. your blog rulezzzzzzzzzz.
xo sara fig
wondeful finds!! i love the shoes and the pins are really cute. the glasses one is sooo sweet! :)
umm..i don't understand. was this thrift store under management of a pink unicorn on a fluffy cloud in the sky??? how can it have so many perfect things in one place?!!?? AMAZING!!
That first pair is truly awesome. I still cannot get over the fact that I had such shoes when I was like, ummmm, thirteen maybe? And I got rid of them ages ago - and they would still fit me! Or not, but still I suppose you'd find me wearing them. Oh victimism.
I totally love your blog and have been reading for awhile and just not commenting- sorry!
I was wondering though- I am planning on hitting up some thrift stores in Queens this weekend (my first time thrifting outside of my grandmother's/aunt's closets)- is there any advice you'd care to share?
thanks!
I love the sandal-y shoes.
I know how you feel about the old people thing, I feel like I'm 60 when I go thrifting because I'm looking for the same stuff the grannies are.
Nice!!!! The glasses remind me of the Dirty Librarian necklaces that I think are way too expensive to have glasses hanging from a chain. I've tried searching at online vintage places to see if they have any, and now I have hope that there is another one out there waiting for me to scoop it up!
Those boots are, dare I say it, fierce. And that apple brooch is fab.
Wow - all that footwear is fabulous!!!
Amazing finds! You must have little feet to find so many perfect pairs of vintage shoes, mine are too big for all but the ugliest of the vintage shoe world, alas!
That facehunter pic is SO cute, how amazing that you found the exact same shoes! Actually, all your finds here are pretty amazing. I just thrifted a pair of brown woven oxfords recently too and I'm loving them :) Happy thrifting!
Thanks everyone!
Kristin-- I wish I could help, but I've never actually been thrifting in Queens, sorry! So, you'll have to let me know if you find any good spots, yeah?
and fashionsqueah!, it's funny you should say that since I feel like I'm ALWAYS finding amazing shoes that re too big for me. What size do you wear? I'm a 7.5. Although, I think if I had size 6.5 feet I would probably have the most amazing shoe collection ever... so many cool old ladies with eetsy feet out there!
i am having some serious shoe envy here...
(and i hear you about the teeny tiny vintage shoe conundrum. if i could change one thing about myself, i often think it would be my shoe size. damn us 7.5's!!!)
oh! what lovely granny oxfords! i'm craving a pair just like them!
i'm green with envy...
love poppy
you are hilarious. nice score with all the amazing shoes.
hihi, your headline made me smile!^^
great things you got!!!!
I am very jealous of these finds, particularly the granny oxfords -- to die for! Love your blog and would love to link up;
