Only this time, the tables have turned:
(Click the pic to read!)
My first published article! (Well, outside of my high school newsaper, that is...) It's on page 36 of the current issue which is, I might add, totally bitchin'. Flight of the Conchords and Elijah Wood (who I've had a mad crush on since...hell, I don't know, "Huckleberry Finn"? Not to mention the fact that he was, oh yeah, FRODO, basically the tiny mythical man I'm saving myself for, metaphorically of course).
Hopefully you'll be seeing more of my name in print in the months to come. I'm so excited, and may I please reiterate once more how much I love BUST? Hell, I'd schlep for just about any old rag at this point, but the fact that I actually get to contribute to a magazine run by people who happen rock so freakin' hard is just a dream come true. Ok, gush-fest over, and out...
(P.S. My mom just made a disgustingly cute post about me on her blog. I'm still just as scrappy, if not more so.)

i think we uh, all adore you?
Congrats! And hurray for a Ranna photo with the article! You and her were totally the best of the wardrobe remixers. So now that you're not posting there and she still is, well, I guess she is hands down the best...
very well written! Those are exactly the same blogs I love, too, beside yours of course.
wow, congrats! i read the article first on the moderniteter. great job! i had a similar experience recently, with an on-line fashion magazine i write articles for, so i know the satisfaction this kind of opportunity can give :)
Congratulations! Your article is great! And I am glad that you featured Alix, especially because she is a friend of mine ;-)
I just sent you an email, but I fell like I really must say you thank you again for this sweet article ! thank you so so much, I'm really touched !
I saw the post on Moderniteter and I was like, Siri? Like Siri from Ringo, have a banana? I was thinking and those four blogs (along with a couple street style ones) are probably the only ones that I absolutely have to visit every day or my day feels incomplete.
Huge congrats! I saw the name on the article and thought that was you. Also, your childhood home (from your mom's blog) looks amazing! So cute that she blogs too. :)
Congratulations! A well-deserved coup, I think.
Perhaps this is something that you want to play close to the vest, but I was wondering how you got in contact with the Bust girls. It's been a dream of mine to contribute/ be a part of Bust for a few years now, but I have no idea how. Did you contact them with the idea or did they contact you? If there's anyway you could give me the down-low, my e-mail is mdavies@wisc.edu. Either way, congratulations!
Thank you so much for mentioning me on your article, Siri!
(And for complimenting my english skills. I've been really nervous about native speakers reading my texts.)
Your blog is one of my absolute faves, so this is a real honour for me. :)
And hey, congrats on the first published article!
I had mine on a finnish movie mag a couple of months ago and it sure felt great.
"I'm potty about fashion" gave me a good chuckle. My mum wants to start a blog; I told her to go for it. Maybe I'll show her your mother's blog as encouragement.
i've read this before! thats insane! darling, you are too cute. i can't believe i havent seen your blog before! keep up the lovely work.
Thank you all so much! Alix and Ranna, no two ladies deserved the recognition more, your blogs really are two of my very favorites (after all, I was told I could write about any blogs I wanted, and you two take a good chunk of the cake!)
And definitely, encourage your mom to blog! I (secretly) only wish people would comment more on my mom's blog. I'd do it, but that's sort of like having your mom tell you you're pretty, you know?
And popquiz, I'll give you an email.
great article!
holy molars, i have had the hugest crush on elijah wood forever and my friends still make fun of me about it. :[
Hi Siri! I just have to say that a long side PopQuiz, I've been an avid fan of Bust for a long long time. I am also, like so many, a aspiring writer. I recently contributed to the recent N.E.E.T magazine also featuring Ranna. I also have been writing for fashion156.com Anyway, I've also been curious as to how people manage to write for Bust, or Venus..and other super amazing magazines such as those. If you'd mind giving me any suggestions, I'd truly appreciate that. My e-mail is evabowering@gmail.com Thanks so much! And fantastic job...the article was wonderful. :)
hey ladies,
k Siri- for the record, i think we need to meet in person....seeing as you've blogged about my Siri-esque shoes, contribute and appeared Bust (as do/have I), um have LOVED elijah WOOD since you were 10 (hello? um, it was severe for me). seriously.
eva- i'm a freelance writer and contribute to BUST and Venus a lot. it's all about pitching ideas and following up! I'm sure you've got some good ideas so get them out there!!!
