A package? For me?

Despite general appearances, I do, in fact, have a rather sticky practical streak in me. This is due in no small part to my mother who, while an artist by trade, is a firm pragmatist at heart.

That being said, I just bought some more shoes.

These babies are laying in wait for me at the Post Office. If only I didn't have to be in Manhattan at ten o'clock tomorrow morning! Then, they'd be on my feet.

I was on the fence for days about these, so I missed them the first time around. Half of me is horrified by their potential Pilgrim/Pirate fugly-ness, and all the scary sophomore year theme party ephemera that might somehow follow in their wake. The other half, however, thinks they're just plain badass. The badassery half of me won tonight, when I found them relisted.

When asked for his thoughts on the Great Buckle Boot Conundrum, my friend replied simply with this:

I may be setting myself up for a difficult lifestyle, but it's a small price to pay for all the free Lucky Charms I'll be eating.

Also, loving the blog. :)

Ah, yes, the relisted item. This is how I ended up with a pair of Cole Haan mules with a fur lining that make me look as if I am an ungainly, forty-year-old Cinderella who never quite learned either how to walk gracefully or how to select shoes that actually, uh, work with the climate one lives in...

I'd probably wear those buckle boots with leggings and a leather jacket. I can see their application even as I want to do a bit of a jig in them.

Both of these shoes are just perfectly dreamy. I am an especally big fan of well-worn-in boots. I like the way they look so much more than brand new ones.

Anonymous--I usually just use the "Shoe Finer" function on ebay, searching for my size, 7.5, and then typing in various keywords, like "vintage" or "boots" etc...with dilligence, you can make some great scores!

And, sadness of all sadnesses, I picked up the brown ones today and they are beyond gorgeous and the leather is so soft and THEY ARE TOO BIG, too big to even try and fake it. So, they'll be up on my ebay shortly, I'll let you all know.

Too big for 7.5 feet? Sadness and despair, they would have look marvelous with your wardrobe. ):
