As a belated Christmas present to myself, I'm thinking of buying a nice red lipstick to wear on New Year's Eve, a bright orange-red, ala Chloë up there. Maybe a little fancier than drugstore brand, but nothing too crazy (Sephora here I come!)
Any suggestions??
nars matte lip crayon in dragon girl. seriously. it doesn't come off and i recommend it to everyone.
ReplyDeletei agree with corrie but also look at mac's RUSSIAN RED!! nars will probably stay on better and be the right kind of matte.. i am now, intrigued!!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I do love me some NARS, thanks Corrie! I will definitely be heading to the NARS counter first and foremost. That sort of matte pencil type thing is exactly what I'd like, but I feel like Dragon Girl might not be quite as bright and orange-y as I'd like? (This based solely on some pretty weak-ass Googling, I must admit heheh.)

ReplyDeletei always wear a revlon lipstick ("love that red" or some equally corny name. the very bright red one). people have stopped me on the street to ask me where i get it; i get tons of compliments on it, and people are always surprised to learn that it's just a drugstore brand! it never disappoints. and looks nice on blondes. good luck hunting for the perfect one!

ReplyDeleteoh yes, for the orangey hue, heat wave for sure. (sorry i missed the part about orange and got all excited to talk about red lipstick!) dragon girl is more of a true red. there's a couple other good red shades too that i forget the names of, but seriously the lip crayons are worth every penny. i've never found anything i like better and i work with some beauty editors that are pretty sweet to me.
ReplyDeleteNars Heat Wave is amazing! I've got it and it lasts all night! It is a really dry matt so I usually put a tiny bit of shine over the top to give it some depth.

ReplyDeleteI really love MAC lipmix in Orange.You can get it from Pro stores. You only need the tiniest dab for a serious orange lip.

ReplyDeletei would suggest mac lipstick. i literally have one tube of lipstick that i bought my freshmen year of high school and its still going strong and totally fine. i don't think they are even that expensive when it comes to lipstick, more expensive than drugstore brand but absolutely worth it. also i think that classic red lipstick will look awesome on you, i want to see pictures!
