...or as easy as possible, at least. The leaves upstate are like a still life watercolor, the City is bitter cold and I have a long day of work tomorrow. I think I'll watch the Royal Tenenbaums and dream about a New York that isn't quite New York.
Talking of a New York that isn't quite New York, I have had a great time finding some of the things on Forgotten NY. I especially enjoy the "You'd Never Believe You're in NYC" section. On it's advice, I have been to City Island, Jamaica Bay, Fort Tilden (hard to get to on public transit, but I was with a friend who was driving), and Inwood Hill Park.
Next time I'm in New York, I want to do some of the things on Staten Island, and go to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx.
