I've been watching Guy Bourdin's eerie, hypnotic short films on repeat lately, after reading about this exhibition at the Bon Marche in Paris. I wish I could have teleported myself there, but in small consolation, most of them can be viewed in the "Films" section of his website.
One of my favorite features on So Much to Tell You is their constantly evolving Top Ten lists--you can find them in the right sidebar, and they're always replete with wonderful little bits of inspiration. That's how I came across the website for this new magazine called I Love You. It looks really amazing, and I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and order a copy online, though first maybe I'll try and see if they still have some stocked at Opening Ceremony. Here's hoping!
I really love stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington, probably because she tends to dress her models the same way she dresses herself. She has such a wonderful appreciation for color, and she always manages to be playful and girlish without being cloying. Looking through the newest issue of Lula reminds me just how difficult a line that can be to tread.
I still can't get over the quality of so many of the editorials in the foreign editions of Marie Claire, and Marie Claire Itaila in particular--especially when compared to the version we get here in the States, which last time I checked was still totally crap, right? I mean, these were shot by Wendy Bevan for cryin' out loud! Tip of the hat, indeed.
