My very favorite way to introduce a new partner around these parts is to offer you guys a giveaway--and fortunately, the folks behind Little Print House were happy to oblige! Hailing from Portland, OR, Kelly and Greg recently opened their Etsy shop and stocked it full of gorgeous prints celebrating things near and dear to their hearts (and mine too!), including but not limited to: bicycling, cats, and the natural wonders of the Northwestern Coast. Now, they'd like to offer one lucky duck the opportunity to take home one of the prints shown above.

In order to win Old Time Bottles, Maple Tree Glow, or Big Sur Vista, all you have to do is take a look at Little Print House on Etsy and leave a comment here telling us which of their many fine prints is your favorite and why. Please make sure that you leave your email if it's not available on your profile. The contest will remain open until after midnight Sunday night/Monday morning. Best of luck to all!

P.S. Kelly and Greg would also like to offer all my readers 15% off their order during the giveaway. Just enter code ringo15 at checkout!

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!

Thanks to Alex, I just came across this amazing set of images by weetstraw on Flickr (do check out the rest!) Apparently, they are scans from a book entitled The Great Cities / Paris from 1977, and photographed by Raghubir Singh.

I always keep my eyes out for wonderful old books like this when rummaging through thrift shops (along with copies of National Geographic from the '70's) and while I've made some scores, I've never found anything quite this amazing. Ah well--to Amazon we go!

I had another opportunity to get together with photographer Charlie Rubin a couple of weeks ago--only this time, I got to take a turn (mostly) behind the lens, styling up the gorgeous Stephanie Lee from Elite. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: there's nothing more simultaneously exhilarating and infinitely depressing than seeing a professional model rocking the shit out of your own wardrobe. Ha! But Steph was a doll, and working with Charlie always proves to be an adventure (in the best possible way.)

You can find a few more shots from the set featured on Fashionising--and you can also take a peek at some of my past styling work over on my tumblr "portfolio" (tumblolio?? The future is now!)

I have so much respect for Lina Scheynius and her approach to photography. Her images represent the poplar opposite of the spectrum from the sickly-slick, over processed kind of editorial and commercial work that leaves me cold. Her photographs are warm and alive and, yes, sometimes flawed--but all the more gorgeous for it. Says Schenynius of her collaboration with AnOther Magazine on the campaign images for their first fragrance AnOther 13:

"We didn't want to make a traditional perfume image, but something more real and raw. I have done loads of self-portraits in the past – it's very much part of my work and how I started out. AnOther asked if I would be interested in doing a self-portrait for the scent and I loved that idea. So I found a nice five star hotel, checked in there on my own with only my cameras and a load of film and a couple of Chloé outfits, and spent the evening playing around."

Scheynius, Chloé, and a few precious packs of Polaroid film. What more could you possibly ask for??

Last week, I had the immense pleasure of meeting up with photographer Charlie Rubin. We went for a walk around my neighborhood, and he snapped some photos of me being a goof and wearing a pair of flaming pink linen Ralph Lauren pants. I only wish I had found those pants back in May. It would have been one of those summers, haha, you know: the kind that takes you wherever the hot pink pants lead you...

I've finally gotten back my first roll of pictures from the West Coast, and expect the rest of them next week--but before I delve into that particular vein of nostalgia, here's a few shots I took in Brooklyn right before I left. Late afternoon light in our bedroom and Coney Island at sunset.

These pictures look so soft and glowing, but really it was pretty miserable, in the 90's and humid as all hell. Can't say I'm sad to be watching NY summer begin to wane...but then again ooof, do I dread the winter! Anyways: I'm excited to enjoy Fall, while it lasts.

Woo!! These are a few shots from an editorial I styled for Joey., a brand spankin' new zine which just officially launched a couple days ago. I'm really excited for the magazine, as well as their amazing blog, since Aaron and Claire (the team behind Joey) are two of the coolest, funnest, all around bestest people I've met here in NYC.

The outfits were cobbled together from a mishmash of my own stuff and some things straight out of Claire's closet. Be sure and check out the rest of the shoot, on the last few pages of issue #1. The rest of the shots are quite different, as you'll see!

(P.S. Please don't repost these images without crediting Aaron Richter and Joey, thanks!)

I've really gotta take a moment and say a huge thank you for all the kind comments of congrats about my BUST featurette! It was really fun and unexpected, not to mention quite an honor. I was equally happy to hear that you guys like the sweater I chose to wear, by miss Caycee Black, which reminded me that I had yet to share these photos I snapped a few months ago at the shoot for her F/W 2010 Look Book. It was all shot at the Triad theatre, a beautiful little place on the Upper West Side of Manhattan filled with shadowy corners and a lot of red velvet.

I also managed a few weeks ago to get a sneak peak of what she's working on for her Spring collection, and it's totally dreamy! Cool sidenote: she paints all her prints herself (plus, she's cute as a frickin' button, that one!)

Bassano del Grappa

Alex and I went and saw I am Love this afternoon. It was beautiful and amazing and intense and you do, indeed, need to "see it by any means necessary"! Honestly, just thinking about the ending is still giving me goosebumps...So, I thought this would be an opportune time to share some pictures I took during my trip to Bassano del Grappa back in June. It was such a bizarre whirlwind event that it all feels like a crazy, hazy dream--and heck, these photos are doing absolutely nothing to refute those feelings!
