CHARLES ANASTASE A/W11.12

Each season, it's always a pleasure to see what Charles Anastase has come up with. Even if I don't fall for every piece, his collections always seem incredibly personal and special. I know he draws heavily on Art and Literature in his references, and it shows--something in his clothes, the fabrics, the lengths, the cuts, they always strike me as quite classical and romantic. This season, they put me in the mind of a Velasquez painting. And let us not forget: more awesome shoes for Jessica Simpson to knock off!

...It's Still an Obsession

I feel like Alexa Chung is one of those people whom other people love to hate (or could it be that I've just been spending too much time on the Fashion Spot forums??) Personally I find something very appealing about her, dare I say relatable even? Maybe it's that I admire her brand of particularly British insouciance? Or that I hear she lives above my favorite grossly over-priced junk shop?

In any case, I'm prepared to make a stand as an Alexa fan--if for no other reason than our shared affections for Lou Doillon and Chloë Sevigny and general mistrust of 80's revivalism.
