Buffalo Gals

wonderful

Today, AMC is playing 24 hours of White Christmas, and then, at 8:00pm, It's a Wonderful Life is on NBC (man, sometimes being in America is sorta ok.) I'm sewing our stockings and making English toffee, all to the tune of "Sisters". Cheesy, yes, achingly so, but right now it reeeaalllyyy hits the spot!

What are some of your favorite movies to watch this time of year?

It's A Wonderful Life is my all time favorite. Every year I start crying at a different place... though the part when George reads Clarence's inscription on the book is a popular time to start.

Christmas Vacation with the family while my dad periodically turns the volume up until my step-mom yells "got that loud enough?!" all the way from the kitchen, and then (drunkenly, these days) falling asleep to the Grinch cartoon. Oh, tonight is going to be so right.

Christmas DAY, on the other hand, is a total throwaway. I could sleep the whole day away without a drop of remorse.

A merry one to you and yours. <3

Oh man, "Jingle all the Way" rules so hard! I think my true favorite Christmas movie might have to be "Scrooged", since Bill Murray is my hero. Although "Stepbrothers" has some pretty choice Christmas moments in it too...

I love It's a Wonderful Life - I watch it every year even though I've probably seen it 6 or 7 times. That and Home Alone just for the childhood nostalgia..and that wolf t-shirt? So perfect. The Swedes have all the luck!

Home Alone is at the top of the list, followed closely by Home Alone 2. If I have a hard time waiting for a movie 'til Christmas day I like to put on a Muppet's Christmas Carol while I'm wrapping presents.

PS Although, I would not say no to It's A Wonderful Life. Mmm young Jimmy Stewart.
